REGISTER YOUR INTEREST NOW
Planning for Men United in Song 2027 is now underway. Some final details, including the Gala Concert venue, are still being arranged, but the project is going ahead and we are inviting men across East Kent to register their interest now.
Registering does not commit you to taking part. It simply means that we can keep you informed as the project develops and invite you to our introductory rehearsal in May.
Interested? Complete the form below and we’ll keep you updated.
Could YOU be one of our 40 men?
Looking for a fresh challenge? Men United in Song 2027 aims to bring together around 40 local men for an extraordinary two-month musical journey, culminating in a Gala Concert on Saturday 24 July 2027.
You don’t have to be a singer already. In fact, the project is particularly aimed at ordinary men who may never have sung in a choir before.
Perhaps you’ve always wondered whether you could sing. Perhaps somebody once told you that you couldn’t. Or perhaps you simply fancy doing something completely different.
Whatever your reason, you are welcome.
There are no auditions and you don’t need to be able to read music. Experienced singers are equally welcome.
Beginners and experienced singers are equally welcome.
There is no participation fee for the project.
Music and individual voice-part practice tracks will be provided through ChoirMate.
Participants will have the opportunity to raise sponsorship for an important local cause.
Your first night – come and try it
Monday 24 May 2027
7:00pm – 9:30pm
St Peter’s Church
Dorman Avenue, Aylesham, CT3 3BL
This first evening is an introductory session. You’ll meet the musical team, existing Snowdown singers and other men taking the challenge.
You’ll also have your first rehearsal — but there is no audition and no obligation to continue.
Come along, experience it for yourself and then decide whether Men United in Song is for you.
You won’t be doing it alone
The project will be led by Musical Director Graham Bissett, supported by accompanists Aileen Dickson and Gerard Ahern, together with members of the Snowdown choir.
The existing choir will be learning much of the music alongside the new singers, so everybody will be working towards the same goal.
Music will be supplied and participants will have access to ChoirMate, providing practice material and individual voice-part tracks so that you can practise between rehearsals.

What will we sing?
Expect an enjoyable mixture of music with something for everyone — including songs from musicals, traditional and classical pieces, sea songs and more modern material.
The final Gala Concert programme will develop as the project progresses. The objective isn’t perfection on night one. It’s seeing what a group of men can achieve together in just a few weeks.
Singing for a reason
Men United in Song 2027 will support Prostate Cancer Support Association Kent (PCSA Kent).
Participation in the project is free. We will encourage participants who are able to do so to make a donation and/or seek sponsorship from family, friends, colleagues and employers.
Further fundraising and JustGiving information will be provided as the project develops.
Look out for Men United in Song across East Kent
Our 2022 Men United in Song project showed us that one of the best ways of reaching men who had never considered joining a choir was simply letting them know that the opportunity existed.
From late March 2027 we therefore plan another major local recruitment campaign, with Men United in Song banners, leaflets, QR codes and online publicity across the Dover, Deal, Aylesham and surrounding East Kent area.
If you’ve seen one of our banners and followed menunitedinsong.org to this page — welcome. You’ve found the right place.
Interested? Put your name down now.
You don’t have to make a final decision today. Register your interest and we’ll keep you informed as Men United in Song 2027 develops.

Frequently Asked Questions
I’ve never sung in a choir. Can I really join?
Absolutely. Helping men discover or rediscover their singing voice is what Men United in Song is about. You don’t need previous choir experience and you don’t need to be able to read music.
Do I have to audition?
No. There is no audition. The Musical Director may help establish which section of the choir best suits your voice — First Tenor, Second Tenor, Baritone or Bass — but that’s about putting you in the right place, not deciding whether you’re good enough.
Is it only for beginners?
No. Experienced singers are very welcome too. Men United in Song brings beginners, returning singers and experienced choir members together.
How much does it cost?
Participation is free. We simply encourage those who are able to support the charity through a donation or sponsorship.
What support will I get?
You’ll rehearse alongside members of Snowdown Choir and receive music and practice resources. ChoirMate will provide access to the music and individual voice parts for practice at home.
What happens at the end?
The project culminates in the Men United in Song Gala Concert on Saturday 24 July 2027. After that, there is absolutely no obligation to continue singing — but anyone who discovers that choir singing is for them will be very welcome to continue with Snowdown.
We’ve done it before.
